In the second screening of Nightingale Projects at the Gene Siskel Film Center, this program of four experimental films addresses different degrees of relationships to addiction. These films metabolize lives lived, images burnt into time, and the slow-motion wilting of nature, culminating into the residues of perspectives. Each film approaches opioids from altering points of view, encompassing the many experiences and complicated relationships that revolve around drugs.

Program Lineup:

FORMER SINNERS OF THE FUTURE (2019, dir. Drew Durepos, 8 min.)

HERON (2022, dir. Alexis McCrimmon, 4 min.)

MIDWASTE (2021, dir. Liz Roberts, 24 min.)

THE INFERNAL GROVE (2021, dirs. Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby, 38 min.)

Followed by a conversation with all artists and curator Caitlin Ryan.
