TRACERS is teaming up with The Nightingale for a monthly media series featuring readings, scholars, films, moving pictures, music, meditation, performance, and lively discussion around topics of contemporary feminism. Over the course of the year, this series presents a body of texts and media designed to promote broader feminist discourse beyond the institutional setting. Your new feminist library starts here. Unless otherwise noted, these events are family friendly and FREE.
DEEP LISTENING: Meditation and Writing Toward Creating Your Future
Feeling stuck or derailed? Wishing for a change in the route your life has taken? This workshop will guide you through the basics of two important processes toward accessing your true creative voice and taking steps in realizing personal goals and a vision for your recreated future. A combination of guided meditation and creative writing exercises will be introduced and put into practice during this workshop, enabling you to immediately begin to hear your innermost desires and instincts toward making changes and gaining momentum in creating the truest version of your self, how to realign the structure of your life, and the real work that you want to do.
Please bring pens, paper and/or your journal!!
This workshop is co-taught by Sherry Antonini and Kara Nakfoor. Antonini is an interdisciplinary artist who teaches writing at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Columbia College Chicago. Nakfoor is a psychic reader, energy healer, and meditation teacher.
