CALL FOR CONTEMPORARY EXPERIMENTAL ICELANDIC FILM & VIDEO ARTWORK

“Dóttirs & Sons : Contemporary Moving Image Work From Iceland” will be the first screening in a two part series which will be shown in Chicago, Illinois at the highly reputable Nightingale Cinema, a rough & ready artist run micro-cinema seven years in the making.

This series, curated by Nightingale programmer Emily Eddy will act as a cultural exchange between Chicago and Icelandic moving image artists. Dóttirs & Sons will screen Icelandic work here in Chicago, and in response Emily will show a program of Chicago film and video work in Reykjavík in Spring 2016.

We’re looking for work that is personal, beautiful, gory, nasty, peaceful, destructive, brutal, transcendental, honest, academic, psychedelic, political, monumental, artificial, quiet, strong, slow, passive, cute, boring, and real.

Whatever you’re making, we want to see it.

The work submitted must be ready to be shown as is with no specific installation requirements.

Please send your name, a link to view your work online, running time, format, and contact information to Emily Eddy @ eeddy@saic.edu

Feel free to contact Emily for further information and visit the Nightingale’s website @ nightingalecinema.org

Deadline to submit: 15/11/2015

Thank you for your interest!
